ZNTB in Canada-USA Road Show

Zambia National Tourist Board (ZNTB) managing director Charity Lumpa announced the start of the Canada-USA Road Show in San Francisco on June 19, 2006. Lumpa said Zambia’s tourism sector was growing fast. She urged American Travel Trade to partner with private sector tour operators in Zambia to enhance the growth of Zambia’s tourism.

“Zambia is a growing destination with a keen eye and promotion of sustainable tourism and eco-tourism products offerings,” Said Lumpa. ZNTB had arranged a six-city road show in the USA and Canada to promote awareness of the Zambia tour operator sector and familiarize Zambia operators to the American counterparts. Alendo Travel and Tour and Zambia Safari Company Limited accompanied ZNTB officials.

The six cities are San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Washington DC, New Jersey and Toronto. In San Francisco 611 tour operators and travel agents attended the road show meetings while a total of 74 attended the Los Angeles presentation. In 2005 ZNTB organized a five-city show in the USA and Canada.

President of Sacramental Association for the Promotion of Tourism (SAPT) Kathy Moroney said the Zambian team’s visit was timely as SAPT was looking for new destinations for the growing numbers of African travelers.

african safari will be once in a lifetime experience and its rich in hospitality hotels are no less. Even small camps and lodges had all the luxuries that you expect when you are on a holiday.
